The Lebanese Rugby Union Federation is;
1. Focused on youth,
2. Committed to developing strategic partnerships with governmental, sporting organisations including the Lebanese National Olympic Committee and non-government organisations.
3. Committed to promoting the values of rugby as essential core values for Lebanese Society
4. Committed to providing greater opportunities for all stakeholders including players, coaches and officials.
At the LRUF, we believe that Rugby Union has the power to unify something this country is sorely in need of.
The unifying power of Rugby was demonstrated by the role that Rugby played in unifying White and Black South Africa in 1993 in the years preceding Apartheid.
Rugby ‘builds bridges where politicians break them down’ and as such we at the LRUF are seeking to build bridges between the Federation and worthwhile government, sporting organisations including the Lebanese National Olympic Committee and non-government organizations to further rugby participation and to support worthwhile social justice initiatives, which identify and are in line with the international values of rugby and which seek for the unity and betterment of Lebanese society, particularly its children.
We believe that the fear, negativity and separation that festers in Lebanon can be supplanted through a unification of purpose, resources and through participation in positive life affirming activities such as Rugby.
This must be undertaken at the earliest stages of life in order to change the culture of desperation, violence and emigration.
This is the role that Rugby can play.
Lebanon in union, uniting Lebanon through Rugby!
