Rugby Academy Gathers Momentum In Beirut

The Lebanese Rugby Union Federation is pleased to announce that the Rugby Academy, aged at players starting the game, has made great progress recently.

The Academy has been running for several months now and is introducing many young players to the game in a safe and fun environment. It takes place every Saturday morning at 9am in Sin el Fil on the municipal pitch.

The sessions are coached by the current domestic director of Rugby, Aidan Connolly, alongside various parents. The players focus on all the basics on the game including ball skills, tackling, rucking as well as making sure to instill the positive spirit and ethos of the game. Each session finishes off with a mini game and the best tackler, try scorer and best spirit is awarded at the end of the practice.

The academy has seen strong numbers and great camaraderie amongst the young players. It focuses on players aged between 7-14 years old, yet all budding rugby players, boys and girls, are welcome.
