The Lebanese Rugby Union Federation would like to announce a new name and logo for the Lebanese National Rugby Union Team, which will now be known as the 'Phoenix'.
The 'Phoenix' was a mythical bird, which lived in the Arabian Peninsula. Legend has it that the 'Phoenix' died on a funeral pyre and rose again from the ashes with renewed youth.
The 'Phoenix' is the national bird of Lebanon and the city of Beirut is known as the 'Phoenix', continually rising from the ashes of its former self.
The Lebanese Rugby Union Federation therefore believes that it is only fitting that the our National team carry this moniker.
